How to navigate the complex world of environmental, social, and governance aspects of a company’s operation?

The importance of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues among various stakeholders, including businesses, regulatory bodies, and even employees, is continually increasing. For this reason, it is essential for managers to acquire a thorough understanding of these issues. A comprehensive understanding of ESG will enable individuals to make informed decisions regarding initiatives and strategies related to ESG within their organizations.

The Introduction to ESG seminar is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of ESG and its significance in corporate strategy. To start, it’s necessary to anchor the term ESG and explain its complexity, including exploring the themes and sub-themes of ESG, along with the concept of materiality for different areas and topics. Materiality refers to the relative significance of areas for a specific company, industry, or stakeholder group and is key to determining which ESG topics are most appropriate to focus on, which we will explore during discussions in the seminar. By participating in this seminar, individuals will gain an overview of the ESG landscape, including key frameworks, metrics, reporting standards, rating agencies, and EU regulatory requirements.
